Wedding Coordinator

 

Job duties and responsibilities:

·         Manages telephone and walk-in inquiries for weddings

·         Prepares proposals, contracts and all supporting paperwork

·         Plans the wedding menu

·         Liaises with service providers

·         Makes wedding guestroom reservations when necessary

·         Oversees event and wedding staff

Skills and Specifications

·         Excellent organization and management skills

 

Room Attendant

 

Key responsibilities of the role include:

·         Unload and load housekeeping carts with supplies.

·         Clean the Hotel guest rooms and bathrooms as directed by Executive Housekeeper.

·         Change linen and towels in guest rooms.

·         Maintain the cleanliness of the hotel public areas.

 

This job requires ability to perform the following:

·         Ability to perform lightweight house cleaning, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and scrubbing.

·         Carrying/ lifting items weighing up to 50 lbs. and pushing and/or pulling approximately 200 lbs.

·         Frequently standing up and moving about the facility.

·         Frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility.

·         Frequently bending, stooping and kneeling.

 

Front Office Staff

 

Combined position encompassing Reservations, Front Desk, Switchboard Operator and Concierge.

Successful candidates will possess an outgoing personality and strong verbal communication skills. Experience in the hospitality industry is preferred, but not necessary. Working knowledge of Windows-based computer software is required. Preference will be given to applicants who are available to work the full season (May - October).

 

Dock Porter

 

Responsible for greeting guests upon their arrival on the island and assisting them with luggage and transportation needs. Heavy lifting is required.

Successful candidates will be physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs. or more with little effort. Outgoing individuals with strong verbal communication skills and organizational skills are preferred. Preference will be given to applicants who are available to work the full season (May - October).

 

Barbecue Attendant

 

The Harbour View Inn operates a Barbecue Grill in the front yard of the Inn daily during peak season. This position prepares BBQ/Grill food items to be served directly to the public.

 

Job Requirements:

·         Monitors customer flow and estimates daily food requirements and supplies

·         Prepares items needed on a daily basis

·         Prior kitchen experience and knowledge of kitchen sanitation

·         Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness

·         Must be able to reach, stoop, bend, kneel and transcend stairs

·         Ability to lift, pull, and push moderate weight (minimum of 20 lbs)
